Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Teal!

Saturday 25th June 2011

My younger brother got married!!!!!

And I got to make the bridal and bridesmaid jewellery :-)

It was a lovely church service and then Nathan and Teri travelled up to the London Temple to be sealed for time and all eternity.

Teri wore a beautiful handmade 50's inspired dress in ivory, with teal shoes, and I made a special floating pearl necklace for her using a mixture of different shaped freshwater pearls and splashes of teal coloured Swarovski crystals to match the bridesmaid dresses, mens' ties, and the reception decorations.

The colour theme was teal as it is a favourite of both Teri and Nathans'. In fact Teri has worn teal so often this year that I felt sure it was a complete give away and everyone knew before the wedding!

As you can see at the reception the bunting and table runners were in teal. Teri and her sister spent many hours making the bunting themselves. And then instead of a guest book they had some chalkboards (lined with teal fabric) outside the marquee where guests could write a message and pose for a photo with it. A delightful and fun idea!

Here are close up photos of the necklace and earring made for Teri. You can see the pearl clusters better here. I used 7 strands and loosely plaited them together so they would fall nicely around Teri's neck and hold a nice shape. The earrings are fairly short and light with a little flash of teal too. They finish off the set nicely.

It was a very special and lovely day.

Congratulations Mr & Mrs Gauge-Klein!
